Technologies are getting more complex and organisations are going to focus on technology. Many users who are not aware of website design technology have read too many things about the creation of websites and their technologies. They gather some information about website design because of heard material, they have created some assumptions or prejudices that are not accurate at all. It is a matter of fact that people who do not belong to the group have developed certain stereotypes based on evidence that are meaningless and most of them are baseless. While under certain particular circumstances, few items they saw or listened to could be right at that time.
Here we list out some most common stereotypes really encountered with our customers and from people around us:
• A Website designer is a Programmer – They assume that the website designer is a good programmer and are the most popular assumptions of people from our environment. Many students are often frustrated because they believed they wanted a good programmer to be a website designer or a developer, which is not true. Here, I want to explain that a website designer needs some key programming skills so that they can be able to get into the backend database.
• Expensive = Good – Generally, website designer expectations are that if the cost of operation is costly, then work will be excellent and more competent or cost less than they are not good or not professional, although it is not entirely accurate. A web developer who is skilled and competent can be paid low but produce an excellent job. Here, the prediction of quality work depends on the web developer’s rated fee, meaning customers assume that the more you spend, the more work we get. But note that neither costly is fine nor less professional is cheaper, so pick your previous working experience carefully.
• Lack of Social Skills – The irony is that web designers are much more heavily engaged with work so that they don’t have time to take note of their looks and speak to others. They liked living alone because of work and this would lead them to introvert character and their presence would disappoint anyone wearing shorts, t-shirts, dirty hair and spectacles. We live in the world, but, where your presence informs others a lot, web designers need to be careful about their photo.
• Male Designers are better – They do not think female web designers as successful as male web designers. The concepts behind this was that they still prefer to stay away from technology and we also felt that women were not capable of learning the innovations as easily as men. However, as one of the best web designers, female web designers still leave their footprint as one of the best web designers, but they are too few to list. Personally, while employed in three separate firms, I hardly saw a woman in the web design market.
